I’m Natalie Edwards,
The Senior Environmental Scientist and founder of Mahogany Environmental & Associates, LLC.
I saw a need to bridge the gap in terminology between environmental and engineers and established a goal for this important work to assist engineering firms, public entities, and construction firms in environmental permitting while having the least damaging impact on the environment and Mahogany Environmental & Associates was formed.
Over 20 years of experience in natural resources, environmental laws, and regulations.
Natalie graduated from Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science. She began her career with the US Army Corps of Engineers as a Park Ranger as a student intern in Alabama, Mississippi, and Georgia. She then moved to Regulatory and worked primarily in Georgia and Oregon with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on complex projects, such as water reservoirs, transportation projects, natural gas lines, and mitigation banks. Natalie has worked multiple natural disasters in Florida, Mississippi, and Georgia with FEMA and as a local liaison in Glynn County, Georgia.
Community Involvement
Natalie is a long-standing member of the Junior League and active in the local chapter in Portland Oregon.
She serves on the Executive Board of Portland Backpack which provides food to school children during the weekend and summer months in NE Portland at multiple elementary schools.
Ms. Edwards is a member of the Land Trust Advisory Board for The Friends of the Columbia Gorge that is a non-profit that protects and preserves for future generations
Fun Facts About Natalie
♢ Natalie is an avid traveler and enjoys meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds.
♢ While traveling, she likes to kayak, stand-up paddle board, snorkel or scuba dive, hike, and partake in the local food and drink.
♢ She enjoys cooking and baking so be careful, she may try to con you out of a recipe.
♢ She also enjoys playing the violin and occasionally links up with other musicians and sometimes plays in a community orchestra for adults.
♢ During her off time, Ms. Edwards is a voracious reader of history, drama, and some good smut.
